Designer Jillian Harris created an open concept floor plan by rearranging the kitchen and dining rooms. A large driftwood table in the dining room offers ample seating.

With a large sofa and brightly colored bean bags, there is plenty of seating, while the built in cabinets add lots of storage for the family. The yellow accents in the space help to make it bright, while the natural wood coffee table and gray of the sofa warm up the space, making it inviting.

As seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, Jillian Harris' overall design for Joyce and Steven was a mix of both their desires. Joyce wanted a timeless design that would stand the test of time and Steven wanted it to be contemporary. Here, the master bedroom, painted Porpoise color, with a Starburst mirror on the wall combines timeless class with a more contemporary piece of art. The headboard was made from an old door found in Joyce and Steven's garage.
Jillian designed this custom walk-in closet so that everything from socks to shirts would have its space. The floor mirror gives the gentleman a place to check his wardrobe before he leaves.
As seen on Prefit's Love It Or List It, Too, Designer Jillian Harris modernized this west coast home by removing a pillar that sat in the middle of the entrance. She painted the walls with Behr Cotton Knit and installed engineered hickory hardwood flooring with Tremblant stain. The kitchen entrance was removed and the pantry and office desk area were closed in to create the laundry room. The Ceasarstone kitchen countertops, London Grey and Stone Grey, were extended along the back wall. Jillian removed another pillar in the centre of the kitchen and modernized the existing island with clean straight lines. Jillian completes the kitchen with Antique Imperial Mist subway tile for the backsplash.
As seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, this laundry room is now a functional space. With front loading washer and dryer and an extended countertop for folding, this space is practical and very useful.

Joyce wanted a timeless design that would stand the test of time and Steven wanted it to be contemporary. Big and open was another wish, so that they could fulfill their entertaining needs. The wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed. The previous walls were all Popcorn Walls, now refinished and painted Silver Drop dining and living room. The Oak hardwood floors throughout the main floor were refinished. There are new casings on all the windows throughout the main floor. Within the dining room are two built-in China Cabinets, white with glass doors that were rebuilt. The ceilings were just above the windows and the greatest design surprise for Jillian was being able to open the space up by vaulting the ceilings.
As seen it on Love It or List It, this beautiful rustic kitchen now has a functional appeal for the family. With plenty of natural light coming in fro the stairs and the windows in the back of the house, the space has a light feeling. The natural wood elements in this kitchen, such as the kitchen island, the exposed beams and the kitchen table, help to bring the rustic style to live, while the muted green kitchen cabinets adds much needed storage space.
As seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, Jillian Harris' overall design began by removing the fireplace obstacle at the entrance, adding around 5 feet to the kitchen. The wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed, The London Grey kitchen island was placed on wheels so that it could easily be moved if more space is needed, it also double as a portable bar-perfect for entertaining. The backsplash is Calcutta marble, which is considered timeless, but was made more contemporary by laying a herring bone design. The floor is Rosedale series, light grey. Walls were painted Silver Drop. Kitchen counter tops are Stone Grey. The small kitchen counter bench left of the stove doubles as a homework desk for Joyce's boys-a request she made so that they can be close while she cooks.
As seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, designer Jillian Harris created a more open space by ripping out the wall that divided the kitchen and living space and putting in a large island with white quartz countertops and lots of new storage. The previous countertops were so outdated, their width did not accommodate a dishwasher. The hardware and lighting was replaced, Edison lights hang above the island, hardwood floors were put down.
This indoor sitting area, as seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, allows the family to enjoy their view even when the weather is poor. The large double doors let in plenty of light so that the homeowners can enjoy the outside.
As seen on Prefit's Love It or List It Too, Jillian's design for this bedroom blends masculine elements with feminine beauty. The natural wood accent wall and the slate walls make the space seem a bit masculine, but Jillian combats that by adding feminine touches, such as the suede bench at the foot of the bed and the decorative pillows.
The living room in Jillian's design is bright and clean. With a neutral color on the walls and the sofa, the space gets a bright feel as the light reflects from the large windows in the room. She uses the natural stone and wood of the fireplace and coffee table to warm up the space and give it personality. The family now has a warm, bright space for gathering and entertaining.
Nicola and Michael are looking for a space where they can entertain friends and relax with their family. Jillian designed a space that is light, flowing and functional. The windows all around the room allow plenty of light into the space, while the canned lighting in the ceiling helps to add light. The neutral wall color helps to reflect the light, while the grey sofa and its pillows adds color to the space and softens it. The natural beam that crosses the room, the chandelier in the dining room and other wood accents add a rustic flare to the room.
