Condition:
The silver... sorry, white metal looks good with minor marks. There are no rips or holes in the metal. You'll see from the photos that one of the silver buttons is missing from one of the wooden bases. Also, maybe not as easy to see, one of the wooden bases bulges out slightly.
These champagne bottle coasters offer detailed, low-relief sculptures of grape bunches, vines, and leaves.
I would love to say that they are silver.
Really, all I can say is that they have silver content. Hallmarks are used to determine the silver content of a piece, or fineness, along with stamps to represent who made the piece and where. I know that in England, if a piece is not hallmarked (or pseudo marked) then the metal is called, "White Metal". Hence, as neither of these pieces are hallmarked, yet they both tarnish, all I can for certain is that these pieces are white metal... but they  must have some silver content as they do tarnish.
In any event, they are both lovely, and add a sense of style and elegance to any table dressing. They will hold a magnum sized bottle.
They could also be used to hold artesian, sparkling, or Pierre bottled water.
