Wm Rogers Primrose 7812 silverplated covered dish, lid, William Rogers silver.

Description

Here is a vintage silverplated covered dish by Wm Rogers. The name of the pattern is Primrose, and the catalog number for the piece is 7812. The Wm Rogers logo on the underside of the dish has an eagle to the left and a star to the right. Sources on the web say that this style of logo dates the piece to the period between 1938 and 1976.
This is an estate find. It had turned completely brown with tarnish by the time I found it, so I polished it before photographing it. The item has some scratches from previous use, but there are only a few tiny dark spots where the silverplate has come off, so it's still highly presentable.
The dish is 12 inches long and 9 inches wide. With the lid on, the height is 3 inches. Without the lid, the height of the dish is 1 and 7/8ths inches. Together, the dish and lid weigh exactly 2 pounds, so once it is packed up and mailed, it will weigh closer to 3 pounds.
